Over the last few weeks I have come to the conclusion that my current eating & excercising habits are not doing me any favors. I, at 36 am also not getting any younger. I drink more than I eat (Taco Bell is my food group), suffer from terrible insomnia, have just found out I have high blood pressure and my clothes are terribly uncomfortable. I have always been very athletic and ate for the most part a balanced diet. It was this past Christmas that with 3 kids I would find myself separated from my husband and the downward spiral to my health began. Now we are in May and I have decided to snap out of it.
It was during one of my nights of insomnia that I surfed the web for hours on end looking for a food delivery service to get things kicked into gear for me. I had tried Jenny Craig back in 1998 and had some success with the structured prepared meals. Back then I was 30 pounds over weight. I have gained 11 pounds this time and figured this wouldn't take long to drop if I kept to the plan of whatever delivery service I chose. I mean I am still running 2-3 times a week at between 2-6 miles at a time how hard could this be right?
The first thing I did was scope out any and all reviews from people like me on which service fit my needs and wallet. I read and read and read for close to 5 days and countless hours until 1 service punched me in the face. WOW a vegan delivery service? I couldn't believe it and the reviews were 100% positive. I tried to be a vegetarian 8 years ago. I succeeded for a whole year and got down to 105 pounds (I am 5 feet tall), but my husband had changed jobs and no longer worked in Watsonville, CA and no longer brought home cheap produce from the local farmers. I just couldn't keep up after that and gave it up. We as a family always leaned more towards vegetarian eating and this had fit us so well, but without me planning every detail noone wanted to help out. I wholeheartedly believe in this lifestyle and now more than ever I need a change. I am bloated 131 pounds depressed, my hair and skin are ick too. I will tell you more about the delivery service in my next posting.
